Darkling by Yasmine Galenorn

I don’t know if I’ve said this enough…but I love ( I do mean love), Paranormal/Fantasy/Vampire novels. I will read ANYthing that has that subject. In saying that, I LOVE this series by Galenorn. I love each character, each depiction of the “otherworld”, I just can’t get enough.

This book focuses on, Menolly, the bad-ass sister with the fangs. (hehehe) We get to learn in this book, what happened to Menolly that made her become that bad-ass, loner, vampire.

Dredge, Menolly’s sire, is trying to make an army of vamps. Since there is no one to fight Dredge and his army, the D’Artigo sisters are once again to the rescue. Menolly has to face her ghosts from the past in order to take down Dredge for good. She must go back to OW (OtherWorld) and find a man there that will help her sever her ties to Dredge and also give her back some of her humanity.

I really liked this installment of the series. It gave us a lot of answers that the other books had brought up. We don’t get to find any of the spirit seals in this book, but we do get to see Menolly face her “demons” literal and mental. I think for the series to move on and for the girls to be able to continue, Menolly had to face this or she would have a serious handicap in the war with their major enemy, Shadow Wing, in the upcoming books. With this out of the way, Menolly can embrace what she is and use that to her advantage.

I do have one thing kind of negative to say, but that’s just me. I’m not into same sex action, and there’s nothing wrong with it, I just didn’t like how it played out with Nerissa and Menolly. It’s not really a negative thing, I know some people like that kind of thing, it’s just not my cup of tea. And I’m not going to let something like that keep me from reading something, I just don’t enjoy that part as much as I do the rest.
