The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson

I haven’t been reading much, but I have to say that the books that I have been able to get my hands are really good. The is double and triple times true for The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson. This book is so original in a time when it seems like everything has been done before. It is a little predictable, but that’s ok.

Jenna Fox wakes up from being in a coma for over a year. She remembers no one and nothing that has happened to her. Her family are strangers, she has no friends and everything that surrounds her is new. Her mother is overprotective and she doesnt want Jenna to leave the house for fear that she might get hurt once again.

Jenna is told that she was in a severe accident that left her in the coma. She is never told why she was in the accident or what condition she was in after the accident. Until one day when Jenna starts remembering. She remembers that she used to have friends, she used to have a life outside of the walls of her families new house, and most importantly she remembers having a personality different from the one she has now.

Jenna wonders what has happened to her friends. Why can’t she remember them completely? Where are they now? She gets her answers the day that she cuts her hand open and finds the reason for all of her parents’ secrets. What is she? Who is she? Will she ever be the same again? These are all the questions she needs answers to and hopes to find.

I loved this book. I finished it pretty fast. Like I said, it’s a little predictable, but worth reading. And the best part (at least for me) is that in the end the author finishes the story. There are no questions left unanswered and nothing left to ambiguous answers. It’s straightforward and ends just the way the reader would want it. Perfection.
